Little Camp Slocan
At the centre of everything in the middle of nowhere.
Little Camp Slocan is an off-grid backcountry campground in the Little Slocan Valley near the Valhalla Mountains, and far out from the ordinary - for those seeking simple adventure with a bit of comfort.
Whether you’re here to explore or slow down, Little Camp Slocan makes an ideal base. We’re located in the Little Slocan Valley, along the Little Slocan River, on the Little Slocan Forest Service Road. We keep things intentionally simple, with limited infrastructure and a strong respect for the land.
Our central gathering space and main campground service building, what we affectionately call Downtown, has the practical services that make an off-grid stay easier. Here you’ll find flush toilets, hot showers, filtered and UV-treated (though still legally non-potable) water, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and seasonal camp basics as availability evolves. Depending on the evening, it may also be where a campfire, live music, or a casual plan for the next day begins.
Most sites are un-serviced, with options for walk-in forest tent spots, drive-up tenting, small RVs and trailers, and wall tent stays. Three accessibility-friendly semi-serviced sites offer 15-amp power and non-potable water service. Wherever you land, expect a thoughtfully crafted space that balances privacy and community with a close-to-nature setting.
Fast or slow, it’s all right here, no driving necessary. Spend your day in the hammock, by the river, take an easy stroll toward the beaver dams, or explore nearby Crown land with the care this wildlife habitat deserves. In the evenings, come to Downtown, bring your friends, and share your adventures around the campfire under the stars.
Rock climbing, multi-day canoe trips, Valhalla-area hikes, layered local history, live music, and local food can all fit into a Slocan Valley stay. Some outings are close by and others need more planning, so check current road, trail, weather, business, and event details before building your day around them.
